General Chapter and Elections: New Superior
This August, our community held it's General Chapter and Elections.
A General Chapter is a time of retreat, prayer, and discernment among a religious community. Among other things, during a General Chapter the community will elect a Superior. Our community holds a general Chapter every 3 years. While Our Lady of Guadalupe always stands as our true Superior, and our "earthly" Superior's title is "Community Servant"

We are unspeakably grateful for Mother Seraphina's years of wonderful leadership. The election of a new servant is simply part of the life of religious, and a sign of a healthy and growing religious community. Mother Clare has chosen Mother Seraphina as Assistant Servant, and she will also continue as executive director of the Rose Garden Mission. Mother Clare has also decided that Mother Seraphina will continue to be called "Mother", in honor of her years of service and guidance.
Please continue to keep our community in your prayers! Here are a few pictures from our retreat:
Up to this time, Mother Seraphina has always been re-elected and has served as our Community Servant for almost 2 decades. However, this year our community elected Sister Clare Marie to this position. Originally from McKinney, Texas, Mother Clare has been a member of our community for 14 years. She is a very dedicated person, wholly in love with Our Lord, and deeply committed to our pro-life charism. She requests your prayers as she takes on her new role as superior.
